Privacy policy

Effective 5 September 2026

Gridiculous Racing is a browser racing and vehicle-customisation game at gridiculous.racing, operated by Splitlight Ltd (company number 16318475). Registered office: Silverstream House, 45 Fitzroy Street, London, England, W1T 6EB. For privacy enquiries, including requests to access, correct, export or delete your account and game data, contact dev@splitlight.co.uk.

Information used by the game

You can play as a guest. Guest garage progress, settings and records are stored in your browser. Clearing site data can remove that local save.

When you sign in with Google, Google provides your account identifier, email address and basic profile information, including your name and profile picture, to Clerk, our authentication provider. Clerk manages your sign-in and session. We use this information to identify your account and let you access your saved game. The game does not request access to your Google mail, files or contacts.

Convex stores your player identifier, public racer alias, garage, owned and previewed cosmetics, points, unlocks, settings, statistics, personal records, ghost laps, championships and ranked results. Save sequence numbers and timestamps help synchronise changes and avoid applying a purchase or reward twice.

Global leaderboards display racer aliases and ranked results. Your Google email, name and profile picture are not automatically published on those boards. Choose a racer alias that you are comfortable sharing publicly. Importing a guest garage is optional and does not import its scores into global leaderboards.

Storage and service providers

The game uses browser storage and cached files to keep local progress, remember settings, load game assets and retry queued account saves. Clerk uses session cookies and related storage to keep you signed in. Signing out separates your guest garage from your account; it does not erase cached account data on that device. Use your browser's site-data controls on a shared device.

Clerk provides authentication, Convex provides the player database, Vercel hosts the game and Cloudflare provides domain and DNS services. Requests to these services can include an IP address, browser information and request metadata. Game error reports sent to Convex can include an error message, stack trace, page path and query string, browser information and timestamp. These reports help diagnose failures. Service providers may process data outside your country. The site also loads Vercel Web Analytics to measure visits and understand how the game is used; hosting and analytics request metadata is processed by Vercel.

The current game has no advertising or real-money purchase system. Google profile information is used for account access, not for advertising or training AI models. Its use is subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including applicable Limited Use requirements.

Retention and your choices

Account game data remains stored until it is removed; this version does not have an automatic inactivity expiry. Local data remains until cleared by the browser or user. Error reports currently have no automatic expiry. Copies held in service provider logs or backups follow their respective retention arrangements.

You can revoke the game's Google connection in your Google Account settings. Revoking Google access or deleting a Clerk sign-in account does not automatically delete the separate Convex garage in this version. Contact dev@splitlight.co.uk to request removal of both account and game records. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account owner.

This policy will be updated when the game's data practices change. Materially different uses, including any future monetisation or advertising, require an updated notice before they are introduced.
